Natural-born video editor and motion designer

Jun Nam Ng (Gavin)

Born in Malaysia in 1997, my family moved to America in 2003. I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA and attended the University of Georgia, graduating in 2020 with a B.S. in Cognitive Science. I chose to not major in video editing because by then, I already had four years of experience in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; I wanted to pursue academia while I was in college. But while in college, I worked at an NGO called AIESEC, the University of Georgia School of Law, and All Def Digital, helping each company create quality digital content, from social media marketing graphics to a full series comparing the most popular hip-hop artists at the time. COVID-19 decimated my plans for 2020 and I had to stay at home for the year, freelancing my editing and design skills to art merchandising companies. I spent the year fulfilling domestic and international orders through ShipStation and managed social media accounts, with the highest TikTok account growing to 40k followers. I moved New York City in June 2021 and am currently searching for full-time work in video editing and motion graphics design.
